I have been a customer of Master Tech for a good number of years and have always been satisfied with the work they have done. I became a customer for a few reasons. Number one was that the previous mechanic I had used broke my main rule. Charge me whatever is necessary but make sure you fix it. He didn't !! Secondly when I became a Master Tech customer I lived about 2 miles away. Very Convenient. My initial interaction with them, other than inspections was an AC issue in a gen 1 Honda CRV. Once fixed they apologized profusely about the charges. They stated that there was an inordinate amount of labor because the actual issue was something behind the dash. An inexpensive item to complete the repair but a seemingly large amount of time to repair it. Because it was repaired and they were honest about it I was completely satisfied. I had a working AC. Luckily through the years I've had very few maintenance issues. Normal issues such as brakes and such and once again always felt as though I was treated fair. Where else can you go today and get a loaner any more. If not the loaner I've been offered a ride to where ever I needed to go. My most recent issue might make you think that it was time for a change. For well over a year I have had TPMS issues. This isn't just the low tire pressure problem, it's more of a sensor or sensor receiver issue. About 18 months ago I took it in for the annual inspection. At that time I had been having intermittent TPMS issues. Because it wasn't happening at the time of the inspection it did pass and I went on my merry way. Over time it became less intermittent and more permanent. This year when it went in for inspection I told them that it was on. While inspecting it they were able to clear the codes and the light went out. BOOM !!! It is now inspectable. Once again I am a happy customer. Sadly I wasn't far away when the light came back on. I was able to get it in again right away and they dug into it a bit deeper. Over the course of a week or so they tried several fixes with no real solution. Now comes the part that, FOR ME, once again makes me believe they are an honest company. Keith had tried all he could. He contacted the maker of the new senors he installed. He contacted the company that made the sensor tester. They all tried but to no avail. Instead of consuming his time and mine over this issue he contacted a repair place that he felt could help with the issue. After a couple of visits to the other garage the problem now seems solved. So to Keith and all the folks at Master Tech I once again thank you. Honesty and good work are requirements for me. I do feel like I have been treated above and beyond what other companies have to offer. Because you continue to respect me as a consumer I will continue to bring my vehicles to you for your continued support.Steve S.
I own a 2006 Mini Cooper S. Lately Mini has had some issues and when I shifted into first and the clutch pedal went to the floor and didn't come back up, I had that sinking feeling. I took a couple of days to think about replacing the clutch -a $2000.00 repair. I decided to try various garages to hear their prices, work schedules, etc.. My friend told me of a place near Price Chopper in Colchester that repairs Minis, so I drove over. I spoke to the owner, Keith. He immediately told me that it was not the clutch. I was delighted with the news. He said he thought it was the slave or master cylinder, and quoted me fair prices. I decided to have the car towed there the next day. They worked on it most of the day. Keith called me and said unfortunately it was both and that I could have a loaner car and it would be done the next day. It was, but when I put it in gear it was not the same smooth shifting it had been beforehand. I brought the car back in the afternoon. By the next morning the car was fixed and Keith tried to contact me 4 or 5 times to tell me I could pick up Mini. He was right that the shifting was now smooth as silk. I am very happy with the fair repair cost, the prompt service, the use of free loaner, the friendly office staff and mechanics. Thank you, MasterTech for a job well done! MasterTech is Outstanding! This week while camping with my three kids, the brakes on my van began to fail. I called MasterTech and spoke to the owner Keith. I have been a customer with MasterTech for three years, they know my van and I knew they would give me advice over the phone. The response I received is what sets them apart from any of their competition. Keith offered to meet me where I was, with a loaner car and drive my van back to MasterTech to repair the same day. I received updates on my repairs throughout the day and I was able to enjoy my day with my kids. I had peace of mind that my vehicle was being repaired at a fair and reasonable price and as promised my car was returned to me the same day. MasterTech is professional, honest and trustworthy. I could not be happier with Keith and his service. On the day of the 2nd biggest snowstorm in history my plow truck broke down. Within hours Keith was at my house, diagnosed the mechanical issue, and made a professional repair at an extremely reasonable price. This is old school, fantastic customer service. Having been in the car business for years with my ex-husband I know a thing or two and I can tell you that these guys are the kindest and most honest I've come across in a long time. My daughters car had a strange problem that no one could actually pinpoint no matter what they trIed. We sunk thousand into this car trying to fix it. The guys at Master tech agreed to take on the job and gave my daughter a FREE loaner car to drive for almost a month while they tried everything they could to figure out why the car ran sometimes and not others. At one point my daughter had to come home for a family emergency so they switched cars and gave her one with brand-new snow tires so she would be safe on the drive to CT . When we finally went to pick up the car they were completely honest about the fact that they just couldn't figure it out. They charged my daughter the minimum they possibly could for MANY hours of labor and then because they knew we had to take the car ! back to CT to her dad Keith gave us HIS AAA card with 200 free towing miles. Well thank God he did because we didn't get more than 90 miles on the highway before it died. Luckily I was following my daughter so she rode back to CT with me and the car ride arrived the next day after the storm. Yes, we were in it! He even paid the extra few miles over the 200 . I don't know about anyone else but I have never had men treat women with such respect and compassion. On our way from Massachusetts to a youth hockey tournament in Montreal we stopped for gas in Colchester, VT and the shift cable went on our vehicle. Pressed for time and stranded, we called several local repair shops but couldn't find one who could repair our vehicle same day. One of the shops we called recommended MasterTech Automotive. We called MasterTech and spoke with Keith. We explained our situation and Keith offered to do everything he could to help us get on the road again. We had the vehicle towed to the shop and Keith went right to work. He had us back on the road within the hour even though the shop was full and busy. He also showed us how to repair it and gave us some supplies to use if it happened again. That was super helpful since it happened again on the way home. We are grateful that you helped us and allowed us to make it to the rink in time for our daughter to participate in the tournament. We also received a follow-up call to make sure we arrived at our destination ok. Dealing with MasterTech Automotive was a great experience. Keith is a great guy and went beyond expectations. I had to get an inspection last minute and these guys had no problems getting me in right away. Really friendly staff and you can tell they take care of their customers. I am very pleased to provide a review and comments concerning MasterTech Automotive. I lve in Colchester and was happy to become a customer of MasterTech since they are located here in Malletts Bay. We own 2 vehicles, both of which are long out of their warranty periods. Previously we had our vehicles serviced religiously at dealerships. What occured in our situation is that I had a problem with one of our vehicles that needed a quick appointment to address at the dealership I had previously frequented. Because of the bureacracy, the lack of concern in setting up a quick appt. for a long time customer, which happened more often than acceptable, I decided to look elsewhere for our service needs. Fortunately, I heard of MasterTech through others that had work done by them, and brought my car to them. They were receptive, responsive, concerned about diagnosing the problem with our car, and resolved the problem in a timely way. Ever since that initial service ! we have taken both cars to MasterTech for all service needs They are knowledgeable, reliable, honest, price competitive, and focus completely on customer satisfaction. As an example of their work, we had a relative visit us from Quebec. As she was about to drive off, I noticed noise coming from the front wheels, and felt this should be looked at before she left. I called MasterTech, explained the situation, and they had me bring her car right over. They addressed the problem, made adjustments so she could safely return to Quebec, and provided recommendations for her to take to the dealer who normally handled her service needs. This response by MasterTech was greatly appreciated, and typical of how they treat customers. They are located in Colchester, but would recommend them to anyone in Chittenden County for their vehicle service needs.George V.
I have taken my vehicle to many other local mechanics, and was so relieved to find Mastertech! They always explain any mechanical issues, and help find the most cost-effective way to treat the issue. I have often felt taken for granted at other mechanics, but have never felt this way at Mastertech. Whenever I call the shop to have my car's looked at, the staff treats me like I'm the only customer they have. They strive to get to the bottom of the problem as quickly as possible so we can get our car's back. We trust Master Tech completely to do a great job at an affordable price. Your staff is as competent as they are kind. After being inspected at the beginning of the servicing I had requested, I was informed that the battery in my Subaru had reached its end. Though not thrilled with the news I trusted the information I was given and authorized its replacement. I have come to believe that a recommendation for servicing from your service techs is something they would do for their own cars were they given the same information. I have never felt "hustled" and am grateful for this. I knew the battery was the original and at 70,000+ miles the need for a new battery made good sense. The tires recommended were fairly priced and are a substantial improvement from what had come with the Forester. The safety factor alone these guys provided is a winner! Master Tech is the most trustworthy garage you can find. They take pride in their work and value their customers. They understand that repeat customers over the life of their vehicle will be far more valuable than gouging someone the one time they come in. I trust them with my BMW, and even though BMW service is excellent, I find Master Tech can easily keep up with them while saving me a few dollars. If your car needs attention, go to Master Tech. I've always used the dealerships that my husband worked at but found myself needing a new garage. I asked around and Master Tech was highly recommended. I agree. They really care about their customers and about doing an excellent job for a fair price. Jason is great when he calls to give me the status on my car. MasterTech provides excellent service - I've been using them for the past three years. They always check my car out thoroughly when it's in for service, fix what needs fixing, and let me know about work that will need to be done in the future. They recommended synthetic oil for my car - which cuts down on the number of oil changes that are needed. MasterTech is reliable, pleasant to deal with, and employ skilled mechanics. I trust them completely, recommend them without reservation, and won't take my car anywhere else, so long as I work nearby.John Quinney
